Hitting the place up with a boat load of good luck.
Since The Bricks opened 2 years ago, the place has been great to me. Kick Start My Art has only allowed me to miss one show and The Bricks has kept me full and happy the entire time. When I was given this opportunity, I was so happy to finally be able to repay them for all they have done for me. My whole goal was to hit The Bricks with a hurricane of good luck. Each component of the painting is a symbol of good luck or protection. The entire experience was incredible.
Day 1:
Humid, hot, and windy as all get out. Luckily, The Bricks has an incredible staff and great patrons to help me through the days. Let’s be honest though, how could my day be even remotely bad when I am able to paint for over 8 hours.
Day 2:
Theme for the day - making friends by making days.Although I got rained out even more than day one, and my back was as red as the bricks, it was a great day.
I had a ton of interesting people come by my spot over the past 2 days. Lucky cat began to take on a life of his own. People started rubbing him for luck (which I was super amped about), I made birthday wishes come true by letting people help paint, and just had some fun conversations with folks.
Day 3:
No rain, just pure heat! It was so hot that my paints were pretty much drying on contact with the wall. Coffee, impromptu Jackson 5 dances, and mild harassment from the staff made this a fun day.
