blogTalking to Santa

As an adult, its a little awkward.

I’m pretty festive, so going Christmas light displays is only natural. Tonight, I went to one such event at the Florida Botanical Gardens. Over 30 acres of gardens and light, I was pumped. While walking, I saw Santa and thought “I have to go take my photo with him.”, so I waited in line. As I waited, I started feeling strange about being the only adult in line. And as the line got shorter, I kept insisting to my husband “I am so not sitting on his lap. That’s just weird. I didn’t like as a child, not doing it now”. I repeated it a few times before it was my turn to greet the Claus couple. As a walked forward, I tried my best to get in there for a picture without the lap sitting. Sure enough, first words out of Santa’s mouth “Come on and sit on my lap”. I died! You can’t say no to Santa. The photo says it all. Santa’s happy, I feel weird and Mrs. Claus just seems uncomfortable. How I laughed afterwards. Forget the lights, this was the highlight of the evening.
