New work by Daniel Mrgan.
Tonight, I was finally able to see Sir Dr. Admiral Rupert Xavier’s Paper Plane Flights to Exotic Mind Destinations, an art show by Daniel Mrgan at Bluelucy. This was an extremely creative and thoughtful show. It was more than just viewing art on gallery walls. There was a story, and its main character, although fictional, was someone I could connect with. It was believable. Even though Rupert Xavier only existed in the artist’s mind and as illustrations on paper, I left feeling like I knew him in some way. The artwork was complemented by the artist’s musical selection. The combination of music, work and story line gave the sensation that I had stepped into an old, foreign animated film. Nothing but admiration and respect for this artist.
