blogLEGO got into my brain

Unikitty? And she’s all about being positive?

First off, I love LEGOs. They are small, and everyone knows I like little things. Aesthetically, they are very well made. As far as toys go, I don’t think their designs have ever been matched in looks and/or creativity. With the release of the LEGO Movie, there was the inevitable toy release. Before I saw the movie I saw the new sets inspired by it. I hadn’t looked into the movie because I wanted it to be a surprise, so when I came across a set that included the character called Unikitty, I was thrilled. Beyond being cute, she was happy and all about being positive. After seeing the unicorn/kitten combo, her colors and the fact that she was so positive, I started to thinkā€¦had LEGO gotten into my head or at least read about my wakeboard from the 2012 RedBull Wake Art Open? Although it is probably mere coincidence that there were so many similarities between this character and my piece, I pretend she was modeled after me and my work. On this night, I was surprised with the Cloud Cuckoo Palace LEGO set, which includes the Unikitty. I hadn’t built a LEGO set in a while, so this was pretty exciting.
