Proof that the small things truly make me happy.
A lightbulb, just an everyday household item, but one that brought me loads of joy. About a year ago, I moved into a place that had a refrigerator…a fridge without a light. Now, I’m not too picky. Things don’t have to be brand new, just functioning. Yes, the fridge worked, but how that darkness saddened me. The food didn’t seem all that happy with the situation either. Every item in there was comfortably cool, but was lacking the spotlight that said “look at me, I’m delicious”. Seeing as how the core of the appliance was working, there was no need to go out and purchase a new one. I tried different bulbs…nothing.
Well, I came home to something spectacular this evening, a working refrigerator light. I don’t know how it worked, but it did. Maybe other people have the magic touch or appliances have it out for me. Whatever the reason for my inability to create fridge lighting, it doesn’t matter. Someone else had achieved the impossible. You wouldn’t think a simple lightbulb could make such a difference or be so appreciated, but it does and is. As I opened the fridge to grab a drink, I noticed something different…everything looked happy! There was light! I sat in front of the open door with a huge grin on my face, opening and closing it over and over, just to make sure it was going to last. All the food looks so enticing now! Staying optimistic that since the food looks so much more tempting, I can pack on some pounds and reach my 100 lbs goal sooner than later.
